Notes from Repu International Team meeting 3.2.2009

1. Recruitment of new members

In the springtime, the recruitment of new members will be in the focus of activity. Especially foreign degree students will be invited to the next meetings through mailing lists. Information activity, via posters or personal presentations, about the international team and FANE should take place in the university, especially in institutes closely related with Fair Trade issues, e.g. Environmental studies, Developmental studies.

Cooperation with the Helsinki local group should take place. Tiina will speak to members of the group and look for ways to cooperate e.g. at the newcomers evening.

2. Upcoming events (FANE FT Breakfast Table, FT Seminar in Greece)

Short discussion about the international FANE Breakfast Table in May. The international team will host this event in Helsinki. About resources, cooperation partners and location will be decided on a later stage. Kai will try to acquire volunteers from international schools in Helsinki for the FT Breakfast Table.

The Chania Seminar in Greece officially received a new preliminary schedule. The first application to the Youth in Action programme was rejected. Now, a second application is in process. If the budget will be granted, the Chania Seminar will start on the 9th of May lasting for about one week.

3. FANE Webpage

The newsletters from 2008 will be put on the webpage (Kai). The FANE web forum should be activated and problems with spamming should be solved.

4. Next meeting

The next meeting will be on the 3rd of March, 18.00 at Marian Helmi, Snellmaninkatu 17.
