Notes from Repu International Team meeting 28.10.2008

Present: Riina Jalonen, Kai Schirdewahn, Timo Toimela, Lasse Hyytiäinen, Hazel Salminen, Tiina Keränen (notes)

1. The situation of the Youth in Action application and the seminar in Greece Riina explained shortly about the seminar and the situation of the application process. The seminar would be in March and there would be 11-12 organizations participating. Total amount of participants would be about 50. The funding decision will be known in the beginning of January.

2. Continue sharing the tasks Discussion about the tasks continued. All agreed that all the tasks are very much related to each other, and these groups will cooperate closely. There will even be same people in different groups. Here the groups and the people interested in them. - “story hunters” (Timo, Riina) - “organization hunters” (Tiina, Hazel) - “material hunters” (Hazel, Riina) - “web page activators” - “marketing people” (Kai) It was also suggested that there could be a translation group. Hazel is interested in that. Regarding the “organization hunters” group and the list of organizations that has been planned, there could be a short introduction about every country and the Fair Trade or Fair Trade related organizations in that country.

3. The future of Repu International Team The future of the International Team was discussed. It is important to keep the contacts alive both inside our own organization and outside – there should be a link to the board of Repu but also internationally. The International Team could also try to recruit people from different cultures and backrouds. For example we could present our activities in Caisa and other places. It would be better to visit these places than to invite them to us. We could also arrange monthly informal activities that could be marketed during there visits. The visits could maybe start during spring.

4. Finding new partners from India (or other developing countries) Hazel has sent some e-mails but hasn’t got answers. She will keep searching for possible partners.

5. Evening programme for the FANE volunteer board meeting (November 8th) The team didn’t come up with any good ideas at this point, but will think about this and inform Saara later on.

6. Next International Team meeting The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, the 12th of November at Pro Fair Trade Finland office.
