Local Groups

Local groups operating in approximately 15 towns are the heart of Pro Fair Trade Finland. The list below shows all the towns where you can join our practical activities, but only the Helsinki local group operates in english. The most convenient way of getting information on the activities of a group is to join its mailing list or to follow the calendar of events of Pro Fair Trade Finland. If there isn’t a local group in your area yet, we will be pleased to help you start one up!

The Helsinki local group

The Helsinki group is looking for new ways of activating members. We are planning to organise informal meetings about once a month, probably in a different cafeteria each time. In addition, we will visit various companies that promote and/or sell Fair Trade products. For more information and if you want to share your ideas of how the local group activities could be developed, please contact the group coordinator Kaj Loman: kaj.loman(at)gmail.com or 050 445 4589.

In addition to the meetings, the Helsinki group also coordinates the Fair Helsinki campaign (Reilu Helsinki) and stays in touch with the church congregations in Helsinki with the aim to make all of them Fairtrade Congregations. Another plan is to start a Fairtrade University campaign. For more information about the campaign, please contact the co-ordinator Kaj.
